Ginger Tea Is Air Support
You are not one, you are many. The many that make up your gut, your blood and most importantly your army.. err... i mean your immune system.
The Immune system is a complex thing(s) so it can be hard to think of but ever since I watched Kurzgesagt's videos on fever and the immune system, my point of view has changed.
It was the first time I started to think of the immune system as a thing rather than just something I know exists (knowing in theory vs actually understanding, even if it's an extreme simplification).
In the video they represent "cells" via a personification. The germs are a hostile enemy while the immune system is an army fighting off the invaders.
Personifying the immune system this way makes it much easier to think and reason about.
So the next time you fall sick and drink or eat something like a porridge or ginger tea, you aren't doing it to "feel better", you are "sending air support".
Imagine you drink tea and your cells on the battle field look back and say 'Air support is finally here! wohoo'
There is a part of you that will always care and fight for you. Support it the best way you can.
